Andreas Kisser is a Brazilian musician and composer, globally known as the lead guitarist of the heavy metal band Sepultura. He is also a member of De La Tierra and has side projects with his son Yohan, including a radio show, an interpretation of Villa-Lobos repertory, and the band Kisser Clan.
Widely respected for his technical prowess and musical versatility, Kisser made notable collaborations with various other artists worldwide, being the first Brazilian to receive a brick on the Cavern Club’s Wall of Fame in 2012. In his solo career, he released the Grammy-nominated album Hubris I & II, featuring influences of instrumental music and classical guitar.
Since 2022, he has been actively engaged in discussions regarding end-of-life autonomy, including the creation of the charity festival PatFest and the founding of the Eu Decido association. The musician is also a supporter and guest contributor for Savage Lands, a non-profit environmental project. In 2024, Sepultura embarked on a final tour titled Celebrating Live Through Death, that runs through November 2026.
With a career spanning over 40 years at the helm of the band, Kisser continues to push boundaries and explore new artistic territories, including live painting on stage, drawings, and art installations. Together with the lawyer and artist Maria Grecco, he is the founder of LĂ–U, an artistic collective that features different art forms, gathering visual artists from the contemporary scene and musicians in live editions. The duo also perform together a show that ties classical guitar, poetry recital and dance movements.
